Gordon Cook
Gordon was born in Ontario, Canada. He grew up with his three brothers as the son of a mining engineer and lived in many places throughout Canada. He was graciously drawn to Christ at the age of 16 after a serious car accident. After receiving a B.Th. from Ontario Bible College, Gordon also completed a B.A. at the University of Waterloo. In addition, he completed the 3 ½ year program of ministerial training at Trinity Ministerial Academy in Montville, NJ. Gordon taught for two years at a Christian school in Canada before being called to serve as a pastor at Grace in 1987. He is happily married to his wife Heidi, and they are the grateful parents of their son, Landon.
John Wakefield
John Wakefield was privileged to grow up in a Christian home where he heard the gospel from the youngest age. As a child, he came to understand his own sinfulness and need for the Lord Jesus Christ. He believes that God in mercy and grace brought him to repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus early in life. As a teenager, he felt a strong desire for the ministry and pursued training at Liberty University and Reformed Theological Seminary. In 1983, John was called into the ministry and has been privileged to minister to God’s people since then. In the summer of 2015, John was called to be an elder at Grace Baptist Church of Essex. He was ordained to the office in October of 2015. John was blessed to be able to marry Cathy in 1980. God has blessed them with four children and a growing number of grandchildren.
Calvin Walden
Pastor Calvin has served at RBC Lenawee since its beginning in 1986 as the primary teaching pastor. He grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated from Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC with a degree in Practical Christian Training. He received his theological training from Trinity Ministerial Academy in Montville, NJ. Calvin is married to Tricia and they have three children and six grandchildren.
